The Charlie Strong Era in Texas is over, finally
I thought it would never get here, even after Texas losing to Kansas in Overtime (24-21). By the way, Kansas had not won a Big 12 conference game in 3 seasons. I thought Coach Strong was going to be fired then. His players had wanted to boycott the final game, if the firing had taken place. It seems pointless now and even then. They played against TCU, and it did not get any better for Coach Strong. Losing 31-9 pretty much says it all. Coach Strong went 16-21 during his time in Austin. Let’s face it, Coach Strong was never really wanted here. The boosters tried there darn hardest to keep him from having any type of a successful run. In spite of getting big wins of both Norte Dame and Oklahoma. So it became lousy and uncomfortable for him to succeed. I believe Coach Charlie Strong will coach again down the road, but it may be a while. So now reportedly Texas has gone out and hired Tom Herman (from Houston). Let’s see how this hire goes as a new era of Longhorn football will start soon. Now fans of Texas can now breathed a sigh of relief, and forget this short tenure of the last 3 seasons.
