2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 15)

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 15)

This 2017 season will definitely be one to remember like a good Clint Eastwood movie. The good, the bad, and the ugly is what the NFL can be described these days. Well the Roger Goodell extension is now official and it’s till 2023, it will be his last run as NFL Commissioner. Jerry Jones is not a happy camper to say the least. The Seahawks-Jaguars game ended ugly with fights to the end of the game. Then a player goes into the stands, and nearly causes a riot. Hope that fan will be prosecuted by the local law enforcement? Josh McCown broke his hand and his season is over. However, is his career over? McCown has played a long time without playing in a playoff game. Let’s hope this is not the end for him. His Jets however have very little playoff hopes. I feel bad for the eagles who lost MVP contender Carson Wentz for the rest of this season. His 2018 season could be delayed pending on recovery time. All the best goes out to Wentz and the Eagles. Well in week 14 I went 7-9 as I had a bad week on my picks. A lot of hit and misses, some games ended very badly for me. In the month of December so far, I’m 18-14 and this season I’m 127-81. Still in line to hit my annual target of 150 wins. Now for the week 15 picks as playoff hopes are on the line for plenty of teams.

Pro Elite Flyers Update

Pro Elite Flyers Update

On Saturday December 2, the Southeast pro elite flyers were set to take on the Georgia Gwizzlies. The game itself was strange and unusual, nevertheless the game went on. The Flyers for the most part could not contain one of the Gwizzlies best player Greg Norman (who went on to score 46 points). I mean he was putting up points left and right, however his teammates did seem lost on the defensive end at times committing costly turnovers. The Flyers would get there shots, and they would prevail eventually into the win column.  They however need to clean up there mistakes as well. If i was a coach, i would not be happy some of the plays that could have been disastrous. Heck, it could have been worse on the scoreboard. The ridiculous fouls that were being called kept going back and forth from both teams. Even Eddie Ishman, had 4 fouls in the 2nd quarter alone. Coach Piazza could not believe it, and he thought Ishman should have only had 2 in the 2nd quarter. The rest of the team was not in foul trouble, except for Mike McCree. Who could have easily been ejected for 2 heinous fouls on the defensive end. The Flyers did get great contributions from DP Demarcus Palmer, Steve Willis, Leventrice Grey, DeAnthony Hereford, and Jeremy Bogus (hitting the 3 point shots when needed). The Gwizzlies have a tough team to contain, if they develop another scorer (like a secondary scorer) they would ruled the gulf coast division in the ABA. Now the Flyers move on to more action coming soon.

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 14)

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 14)

This 2017 NFL season has been a strange one to say the least. I cannot remember this many twists and turns in a season in a long time. The New York Giants clean house, literally with both the GM Jerry Reese and HC Ben McAdoo fired this past Monday. Now Eli Manning has been reinstated as the starting quarterback for now. Geno Smith did not get it done, not a surprise at all. What happens to Davis Webb, who knows at this point. I hope he gets a chance at some point later this season. Roger Goodell finally gets his extension to remain Commissioner of the NFL for another 5 years worth almost 200 millIon dollars. There are plenty of head coaches on the hot seat for sure, and we will be hearing about it for the next several weeks. One more thing, the AFC North division is in fact the most physical among all the teams. No easy games what so ever, all 4 teams play smash mouth football. Last week in week 13, I went 11-5 to start off the month of December. In this 2017 season I’m 120-72. Still have a ways to go to hit my annual goal of 150 wins. Now for the week 14 picks:

Vikings over Panthers

Bengals over Bears

Texans over 49ers

Lions over Buccaneers

Keep it lock to Chris Wood Sports as we venture to 2018.

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 13)

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 13)

What a week in the NFL, there has been a lot of stories that made headlines. I had a tough time figuring out my 3 main ones. The Benching of Eli Manning has played out so poorly, i may not cover the Giants this week at all. Why the benching all of a sudden, the Giants want to move on from Manning once the season ends. The Giants is a mess and that is about as nice as i am going to put it. Other news, the suspensions of Micheal Crabtree and Aqib Talib are a joke. First it was a 2 game suspension, but then they appealed and its only 1 game as of now. I wish i was the commissioner, i would have given them the rest of the season off. They fought before and got nothing. Then the Raiders coach Jack Del Rio try the AJ Green example, because he got nothing. It did not work at all, Jack! Just try to save your season. Last week i went 12-4 in week 12, and for the month of November im 39-18. In the 2017 season im 109-67 and now my week 13 picks as the home stretch is coming soon:

Thursday Night

Redskins over Cowboys

Early sunday

Vikings over Falcons

Lions over Ravens

Patriots over Bills

49ers over Bears

Packers over Buccaneers

Jaguars over Colts

Dolphins over Broncos

Chiefs over Jets

Titans over Texans

Late Sunday

Chargers over Browns

Saints over Panthers

Rams over Cardinals

Giants over Raiders

Sunday night

Eagles over Seahawks

Monday night

Steelers over Bengals

There you have it, my weekly picks are up and ya’ll have a good one.

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 12)

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week 12)

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you following my sports blog, greatly appreciated as always. My Week 12 picks are coming, but first plenty of notes from around the league. Josh Gordon is finally back with the Cleveland Browns after almost 3 years out of the league. Let’s see how it goes this time around for him. The Buffalo Bills are turning back to Tyrod Taylor to be the starting quarterback, after that miserable performance by Nathan Peterman (5 interceptions in one half) who was benched at halftime verses the LA Chargers. The Denver Broncos are a head skratcher when it comes to there quarterbacks. They are going to start Paxton Lynch and see if he can win some games for them. Both Trevor Simien and Brock Osweiler had they chance and it is not working out for the Broncos. The Broncos will be looking for a quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft.  Jerry Jones says he will not sue the other owners, but wants some accountability from now on. Last week in week 11, I went 8-6 with some strange endings to games. For the 2017 season I am 97-63, yes I am almost at the 100 win mark. In the month of November I’m 27-14 so far with 1 more week to go. Now for the week 12 picks:

Thanksgiving Thursday

Vikings over Lions

Chargers over Cowboys

Giants over Redskins

Early Sunday

Falcons over Buccaneers

Chiefs over Bills

Eagles over Bears

Weekly CFL Picks (Grey Cup Semi-Finals)

Only 1 week to go before the annual Grey Cup. I will have picks on a regular basis starting with the 2018 season. I am just doing the last 2 weeks of playoff action. It is a unique game, if you ever watch it on TV. Its a different game than the American game. Here is my picks for this Sunday’s playoff action:

Remember the Grey Cup is next Sunday at the end of a long Thanksgiving weekend.

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (week 11)

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (week 11)

What an NFL season so far, it has been getting better as we hit the home stretch with 6 weeks to go. So it is time to separate the contenders from the pretenders.  Before the picks, got to get to our notes from around the league. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is at it again, this time his battle with Commissioner Roger Goodell has gone too far. It is already bad enough that you lost your Running Back Ezekiel Elliot, due to ridiculous league rules. Elliot has dropped his appeal, and will return by Christmas. Whether he did it or not is going to be debatable for a long time. I feel sorry for Dallas Cowboys fans, who have to endure this problem. I think Jerry Jones is like the Al Davis of today’s NFL owners (making unnecessary headlines for whatever reasons beyond insanity). The Buffalo Bills have made a change at quarterback going from Tyrod Taylor to Nathan Peterman. I have no clue who Peterman is, but the playoff drought for the Bills will continue (17 years and counting). The 49ers finally won, and now there is the Browns are left winless, and possibly getting the number 1 draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Now for the picks, and it was a great week, for only the 3rd time this season. I went 12-2 in week 10, and for the season i am 89-57. For the month of November im 19-8, so its off to a good start. Now for the week 11 picks:

Thursday Night

Titans over Steelers

Early Sunday

Lions over Bears

Texans over Cardinals

Giants over Chiefs

Packers over Ravens

Rams over Vikings

Dolphins over Buccaneers

Jaguars over Browns

Saints over Redskins

Late Sunday

Bills over Chargers

Bengals over Broncos

Patriots over Raiders

Sunday Night

Eagles over Cowboys

Monday Night

Seahawks over Falcons

There you have it, my picks are up and due to the Thanksgiving holiday i will be doing picks a little early next week. Now the CFL football picks will start soon.

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week10)

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (Week10)

This football season is hard to predict sometimes. My picks are coming but we got news breaking out everywhere. Earlier today the off again on again suspension for Ezekiel Elliot, is settled (for now) and will serve that 6 game suspension. This story had more legs than the whole storyline of Ross and Rachel of the TV show Friends (1994-2004). Yes I did watch the show if you are wondering. Marcellus Bennett has now signed with the New England Patriots, after being released by the Green Bay Packers over an medical issue. Teddy Bridgewater has finally returned to the Vikings after a year and a half injured. He will be the backup this weekend to Case Keenum. Sam Bradford has not been healthy for weeks, as the on going knee issues have reoccurred again. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may sue the other NFL owners in hopes of blocking Commissioner Roger Goodell groom getting a contract extension. Finally, Ben McAdoo may not be the NY Giants coach for long. I would be shocked if the Giants bring him back for 2018. Now on my picks I went 7-6 in week 9, a lot of hit and misses in the games. This season I am 77-55, so I need to get to the 100 win mark soon as possible. Now the week 10 picks:

thursday night

Seahawks over Cardinals

Early Sunday

Vikings over Redskins

Jets over Buccaneers

Titans over Bengals

Saints over Bills

Lions over Browns

Packers over Bears

Steelers over Colts

Jaguars over Chargers

Late Sunday

Rams over Texans

Falcons over Cowboys

Giants over 49ers

Sunday Night

Patriots over Broncos

Monday Night

Panthers over Dolphins

There you have it my week 10 picks are up, don’t forget in a couple of days or so I will release a new feature on this blog. Also there is announcement coming to Chris Wood Sports as well, so stay tuned for that, and I will be back on sooner that you think.

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (week 9)

2017 Weekly NFL Picks (week 9)

This week has seen a lot of twists and turns, as news is breaking all over the place in the NFL. Here are a few notes before I get to my picks. The 49ers get Jimmy Grapoplo from the Patriots. But they won’t play him right away, saving him for 2018. Andrew Luck’s season in 2017 is over before it ever began. His throwing shoulder did not recover to his liking, and we will have to wait til 2018 before he steps on the field. DeShaun Watson gets hurt in practice recently, and is out for the rest of the season. The Texans super bowl chances went up in smokes, at least for now. Ezekiel Elliot’s suspension is back on, and is out til December (at least around there). However this chapter may not be closed, do not be surprised if there is another twist. At least this point, I would make it like a soap opera. Now for an update on my picks as a winning week finally happens. In week 8 I went 12-1, and for the 2017 season I am 70-49. So it’s time for a winning November, plenty of good games left to go here. Now here is my week 9 picks:

thursday night

Jets over Bills

Early Sunday

Texans over Colts

Giants over Rams

Titans over Ravens

Jaguars over Bengals

Falcons over Panthers

Saints over Buccaneers

Eagles over Broncos

Late Sunday

Cardinals over 49ers

Seahawks over Redskins

Chiefs over Cowboys

Sunday Night

Raiders over Dolphins

Monday Night

Packers over Lions

There you have it, my week 9 picks are up. There will be more football action soon. Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour except for Indiana and Arizona.
