My Weekly Extra Point #6

The Houston Texans Quarterback Soap opera

So when they got rid of Brock Osweiler, the idea was the Texans wanted a proven QB that has won. However as of now, it has proven to be a nightmare for the Texans. All they have left is Brandon Weeden and Tom Savage, and they are clearly not the answer for the Texans at this time. Colin Kaepernick and Jay Cutler is still out there (and there proven QB’s) but i do not see anybody else. I guess the upcoming NFL draft (which is within weeks by the way) will be interesting considering they dont pick until the 20’s. The Texans will have to hope for the luck of the draw, in order to find a Quarterback that they can develop into there own. I know you are probably are wondering why i call it a soap opera, its a show that i cannot turn away. Also the headlines continue to mount day after day. This would make newspapers desperate to attract readers for once. Its time for the Texans to find that Quarterback (once and for all) and develop him into a winner as the AFC South division will be wide open for the 1st time in 4 years. Can’t wait for the NFL season to get started.

My Weekly Extra Point #5

The Tony Romo Retirement

I really thought the Dallas Cowboys handled it poorly, first they were gonna release him 2 months ago. Then the trade that never took place at all, leaving him out there to fend for himself. I for one would have loved it if he went to the Houston Texans. I will try not to show my NY Giants fan bias on here. Romo is retiring on his terms and going to the broadcast booth at CBS. I however disagree with him replacing Phil Simms as the #1 NFL Game analyst (For CBS). I think he should work his way up from the bottom. But hey the TV executives know more than me, so it would only fall at there feet if it doesn’t work. Romo could have gone to Fox Sports, but CBS offered a better deal. As for his playing career, i think he is done. However it would have been better if he played better in the postseason (2-4 in the playoffs, all with Dallas). I cannot blame him entirely, i mean his teams didn’t last long enough. Also he did not get past the 2nd round of playoff competition which is a big factor as Dallas was the perennial favorites to end up in the super bowl. So the ride ends for Romo as Jerry jones (Owner of Dallas Cowboys) would not let this end without haste. Clearly Jones did not want him to end up with the team of his choice. Let’s hope the Dallas cowboys have some good seasons coming up as the Dak Prescott era is well underway.

Latest Weekly Extra Point (1st of 2017)

Will Vegas end up with the Raiders, at all?

Raiders still plan to move to Vegas, in spite of recent financial back outs. They filed the paperwork for relocation, sometime ago in January. What about the city of Oakland, CA and do they even have a chance at all here? I really don’t see the city of Oakland doing anything now, or even later. They are on the verge of losing the Golden State Warriors (to San Francisco), possibly the Oakland Athletics baseball team to San Jose or Montreal. So about 5 years Oakland will be a ghost town, with no sports teams. The Raiders needed a new building for years, and they did nothing with it. In Las Vegas, the Raiders have had 2 prominent companies that have backed out of money deals for a new stadium. The reasons have been compelled to say the least, but not legit in my eyes. I think the Raiders would work in Las Vegas with great fan support. There has not been a vote for the Raiders relocation as of now. The rule is that 24 of the 32 NFL owners would have to say yes to the Raiders moving. There are some hurdles the Raiders have to endure, but the process is there. As for when it will take place, they hope the 2020 season is when the Raiders plan to be in Vegas. We will see what happens next with the Raiders as far as on the field issues.

My Divisional Playoff Picks

My Divisional Playoff Picks

How about it football fans we made it to 2017. Now we got some notes to go through before we get to the picks. The Chargers are now in Los Angeles, and looks like the Raiders will make a move to Las Vegas. Still developing at this time, we will keep a close watch on it during the off season. 5 teams have new head coaches heading into the 2017 season. Only the San Francisco 49ers are left without a coach. Johnny Manziel will be at Super Bowl Week in Houston charging for both selfies and autographs, huh!! He cannot be serious about this, how is this even a story?? Now for my picks, sorry I was not here during the wild card round, didn’t miss much at all a season there was no close games.

2016 NFL week 17 (regular season finale) NFL picks

How about that we have finally reached the end of the regular season with the final week. A few quick notes from the league as the coaches are making the news off the field. Rex Ryan is gone from buffalo as they did not want to wait. There will be more coaches on the hot seat between now and Monday. The San Diego Chargers lost a game, but this one was the worst of the year. The Cleveland browns ended a 17 game losing streak going back to last season. What a shame and it may be the end for the Chargers tenure in San Diego if it comes to it. Last week I went 11-5 in week 16, and for the season I’m 154-83-2 as I go for the 160 win mark to end the regular season.

My weekly extra point #8

The Gus Bradley Era is finally over, Marrone named Interim for the Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have not played well at all this season. They have only 2 wins on the season, as they lost there 9th consecutive game this past Sunday. They lost to the Houston Texans by 1 point (21-20), after blowing another good lead in Houston, TX. The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 2-12 in this 2016 NFL season. Gus Bradley was no longer going to be the coach of the Jaguars regardless. It had been speculated for weeks on Bradley’s status going forward. However, Bradley didn’t even win no more than, 14 games with the Jaguars. But Gus Bradley had no say on compiling the roster, so how can he succeed anyway? So I concluded that Gus Bradley had no chance, and this past Sunday he was finally fired. Now for the final 2 games will be coached by Doug Marrone, and this will not go well anyway as the Jaguars play both the Titans and Colts. When there season concludes the Jaguars will have to go back to the drawing board, and see what happens in the off season. The Jacksonville Jaguars once took the NFL by storm back in the latter 1990’s. It would be nice to get back to them at some point this century.

2016 NFL week 16 Picks

2016 NFL week 16 Picks

This will be an exciting week as we head down the stretch, with playoff spots on the line. Still with about 20 teams in line for a playoff berth, but only 12 can go to the NFL’s postseason tournament. Gus Bradley days as Jacksonville Jaguars coach is over, as he was fired right after the game. How classless you have to be to let a coach go even after the game, on the road no less. So there are 2 teams without a coach (Rams and Jaguars), and there will be more coming. I would keep a close watch on the Buffalo bills situation and Rex Ryan. I think his days are numbered, but coming into this weekend he is 15-15. Who would have thought that notion? Nobody im sure at all, and Bills fan put your hand down right now. So what happens if he wins the last 2 games, are the Bills management gonna keep him? We will have to stay tuned for the latest news, and anything else that happens. In week 15 I was an outstanding 13-3, and for the season im 143-78-2. I can easily reach my goal of 150 wins, if the winds go right for the taking. Now here is the week 16 picks:

Thursday Night

Giants over Eagles

Early Saturday

Dolphins over Bills
Patriots over Jets
Titans over Jaguars
Packers over Vikings
Chargers over Browns
Redskins over Bears
Falcons over Panthers

Late Saturday

Raiders over Colts
Buccaneers over Saints
Seahawks over Cardinals
49ers over Rams

Saturday Night

Texans over Bengals

Sunday’s Games

Steelers over Ravens
Chiefs over Broncos

Monday night

Cowboys over Lions

There you have it, my picks are now up! remember most of the action is on Saturday and not much on Sunday. Don’t forget this coming week my college football playoff preview is coming soon. By the way, I am not impress with some of the bowls so far, its time to reduce the bowls and have more playoff games, period. Happy holidays 2 ya’ll and be safe out there!!

2016 Week 15 NFL Picks

2016 Week 15 NFL Picks

How about this NFL Season so far, it has been a dandy. Teams all over the league are making news left and right on here. The Los Angeles Rams shock the sporting world by firing Jeff Fisher (who is tied for the most losses all time as an NFL Head Coach) after giving him a 2 year extension. I really liked Jeff Fisher this entire time, but it seems like the Rams fans were not happy with the way this season has gone. Most of Fisher’s seasons with the Rams were finishing close to the .500 winning percentage mark. He could never deliver the Rams that playoff berth that they have been seeking since 2004. So far 4 teams have been eliminated from postseason contention. They are the Jets, 49ers, Rams, and Jaguars with more to come after this weekend’s games. I feel bad for Ryan Tannehill who got injured last week vs Cardinals. I hope he can comeback before the season ends. The Miami Dolphins will need some luck getting to the playoffs. The situation with both the Chargers and the Raiders are not looking good as far as staying in there current residence. The San Diego Chargers are reportedly ready to move to Los Angeles after the season. However Dean Spanos (principal owner of the Chargers) has not made a decision officially yet? Stay Tuned because this is clearly not over, at least till January 15. As for the Oakland Raiders its up in the air for now, but caught in a tug a war with 2 cities. Both Oakland and Las Vegas are making pitches on getting the Raiders a new stadium. They clearly need one soon, but staying in Oakland may not be in the cards. This story will only get more interesting as the season comes to an end in 3 weeks. The Raiders have got to start thinking playoffs, and put aside all the new stadium talk. Now time for the weekly picks as i continue to have a great season picking NFL Games. I went 11-5 in week 14, and for the season i’m 130-75-2. I still have a shot on getting to the 150 win mark if things go right. Now for the week 15 picks:

Thursday Night:

Seahawks over Rams

Saturday Night

Dolphins over Jets

Early Sunday

Packers over Bears
Bills over Browns
Ravens over Eagles
Steelers over Bengals
Giants over Lions
Vikings over Colts
Texans over Jaguars
Chiefs over Titans

Late Sunday

Saints over Cardinals
Falcons over 49ers
Raiders over Chargers
Patriots over Broncos

Sunday Night

Cowboys over Buccaneers

Monday Night

Redskins over Panthers

There you have it my weekly picks are now up, so its time to get into the home stretch of the regular season. Look for the best football to be played from here on out.

2016 Week 14 NFL Picks

2016 Week 14 NFL Picks

As the season starts to hit the last of the season stretch, it seems like the NFL is still hard to figure out even after 13 weeks here. Now for some league notes and there is not too many to go into. The New York Jets and that awful performance on Monday Night vs. Colts getting beat 41-10 in front of the less than half crowd at MetLife stadium. Now the next question after this is: Todd Bowles on the hot seat?? At this point it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Jets wanted to make a change. They really need to change the majority of this horrid roster of theirs. They have officially made a quarterback change once again from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Bryce Petty. Thank goodness the Jets have 4 games left. On the my picks as last week I went 11-4 in week 13. Now my season record is 119-70-2, still on pace to win 150 games this season. Here is my week 14 picks:

Thursday night

Chiefs over Raiders

Early Sunday

Steelers over Bills
Cardinals over Dolphins
Lions over Bears
Broncos over Titans
Chargers over Panthers
Colts over Texans
Redskins over Eagles
Bengals over Browns
Vikings over Jaguars

Late Sunday

Jets over 49ers
Buccaneers over Saints
Falcons over Rams
Seahawks over Packers

Sunday Night

Giants over Cowboys

Monday Night

Patriots over Ravens

There you have it my picks are up and still can’t wait for the college bowl season my picks are up but the playoff ones, those are coming soon. Y’all have a good one!!
