My National Championship Playoff Preview + Pick

My National Championship Playoff Preview + Pick

Well that was a good playoff round, so its now time to end it all right here (on the field). Alabama Crimson Tide vs the Clemson Tigers is the teams to be playing for that coveted gold trophy. First for the Clemson Tigers, while i admit they have had a great year (have not lost yet). I was going through highlights and there schedule, it seems to me like not much competition from the ACC and other teams. Even in the playoff game, i thought Oklahoma was going to upset them. However clemson pulled it out with the outstanding play of their Heisman runner up QB DeShaun Watson. Head Coach Dabo Swinney who has been at Clemson for a long time, and has a chance to do something that has not been done since the early 1980’s. Winning a national Championship, except this would be there best ever. However the mighty Crimson Tide of Alabama is in the way. Speaking of Alabama they are coming off a great Cotton Bowl win vs Michigan State. It was no contest at all here, as the Tide has its way with the Spartans. Honestly its too one side to even discuss it. The Tide was rolling with guys like Jacob Coker, Kenyan Drake, and Heisman trophy winner Derrick Henry. The Defense of the Tide (may be the best in a long time) will need to have there way with DeShaun Watson in order to get a national championship for the 1st time since 2012. I believe Alabama will be able to contain Clemson. However if they get into a scoring shootout with Clemson, they will need to have there ducks in a row. It wont be easy for the Tide, however plan yourself a long game as there will be a lot of scoring in this contest. My pick: Alabama barely edging out Clemson win there 16th national championship. Think about the shirts now: 16 championships in 16′ (just an idea)

My 2015 College Football Playoff Preview & Picks

My 2015 College Football Playoff Preview & Picks

Well its the 2nd National playoff in its history, and there is only 1 returning team (Alabama) to the party. The 3 others struggled to make it back, im speaking of Oregon, Florida State, and defending champ Ohio State. So there will be a new champion this time around. This college football season was one of the best in a long time. A lot of upsets that nobody would have predicted. Outcomes and the endings of games that was wild, I mean you could not ask for a better season than this one. The 2015 season will be one for the books, and for the annals of history. Well lets get on for the playoff preview already!!!

Orange Bowl (Miami, FL)
Clemson vs. Oklahoma

I was shocked that Oklahoma got in after all that talk about the Big 12 (which don’t have a championship title game still) I felt that Stanford (Pac 12 Champion) should have got in, however the committee got it wrong in spite of Stanford losing twice as suppose to Oklahoma only losing once (to a 4-8 Texas team). At least Clemson was impressive all season long in the Atlantic Coast Conference. I do not have Clemson playing in the championship game, I believe Oklahoma has the fire power to overcome Shaun Watson and that attacking offense of Clemson. Plus the Sooners defense has played very all season in the Big 12, as they were the only defense to shut down opponents week after week. My Pick is: Oklahoma winning over Clemson in this contest.

Cotton Bowl (Dallas, TX)
Alabama vs. Michigan State

Now for the matchup we have all been waiting for, how about them Crimson Tide rolling through opponents all year long in the tough SEC conference. The impressive trio of QB Jacob Coker and RB Derrick Henry (Heisman winner). I think Alabama will have no problem with the Spartans. Its almost if they can do no wrong when it comes to playing there game. As for Michigan State, I did not see anyone in the media giving them a chance in this game. Don’t get me wrong, they have had a great season in there own right in the Big Ten (what a conference) They pulled a great upset vs. Michigan in there house, if not for a bad snap on a pending punt at the end of the game. Also they beat Ohio State at a critical time, when it look like nobody was going to even stop them from getting a 2nd straight national championship. My pick Alabama blows out Michigan State

There is my playoff picks, and sometime next week my National Championship Preview is coming out stay Tuned!!!

2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs Preview & Picks

2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs Preview & Picks

well its my favorite time of the year, the Stanley cup Playoffs is here. The regular season is finally over, i felt it was too long (82 games). NHL its time to shorten the season by at least 10 games. The Los Angeles kings will not be defending the stanley cup, as they miss the playoffs. Along with playoff choker San jose Sharks, and a cast of thousands. The NY rangers won the president’s trophy (best regular season record), and have a great shot in winning the Cup. There are some contenders out there, that will have something to say about that. I have 5 other teams to watch out for:

Montreal canadiens
Chicago Blackhawks
Anaheim Ducks
Tampa Bay Lightning
New York Islanders

So here are my 1st round picks: (Best of 7 game series)

Eastern Conference:

NY Rangers over Pittsburgh (5 games)
Washington over NY Islanders (7 games) upset pick
Montreal over Ottawa (7 games)
Tampa Bay over Detroit (7 games)

Western Conference:

Anaheim over Winnipeg (6 games)
Vancouver over Calgary (7 games)
Chicago over Nashville (5 games)
Minnesota over St. Louis (6 games)

there you have it, my NHL playoff preview is up and ready to go. Its Cup time hockey fans!!!
