My 2023 Final Four Preview + Picks

My 2023 Final Four Preview + Picks

There is only 3 games left, which includes the national championship on Monday night in Houston, Texas. In this remaining tournament there are 3 teams that have never won a national championship in basketball. Only Connecticut has a past championship that is left in the NCAA tournament. The other 3 teams (Miami (FL), Florida Atlantic (FAU), and San Diego State) have never even gotten close to a championship at all here. Somebody out of this group is going to reach the national championship game. By the end of this, some team out is going to make an historic run at a NCAA championship. This has been the strangest tournament I can ever remember. I have been watching college basketball for over 35 years now. Sure there have been upsets in past years that make you stand up and take notice. Well its been a crazy postseason everywhere, especially in basketball. So here is my Final Four picks:

Saturday’s Action:

San Diego State over Florida Atlantic (FAU)

Connecticut over Miami (FL)

There you have it and we will be back at it on Monday with a preview and pick.

My XFL Today’s Picks (Week 7, 2023)

My XFL Today’s Picks (Week 7, 2023)

Well XFL fans there is only 4 weeks left in the regular season, and the games get even more critical for just about every team. Not sure for Orlando Guardians who are 0-6, as you look at the XFL South division standings. As of this coming week, the Guardians (although a long shot) still have wild card hopes but need to win down the stretch and have everything else go right for them. The same could be said for the Vegas Vipers who are 1-5 currently in the XFL North division with no shot at a division title this season. They still can contend for a wild card, but they trail both Seattle and St. Louis (4-2 each) by 3 games. They too will need to win out and have everything go right for them. In the XFL South Division both Arlington and San Antonio, are keeping pace with Houston Roughnecks for the Division. The Roughnecks have struggled the past 2 games on offense, which have led to losses to both Seattle and D.C. At first, the Roughnecks look liked world beaters for the rest of the league. Now, they will need a victory just to get back on track. The DC Defenders are still unbeaten and leads both Seattle and St. Louis by 2 games in the North division. Remember fans, the 1st 2 teams in each division make the postseason in the XFL. Now it is time for my XFL picks in Week 7:

Friday Night:

Seattle Sea Dragons over Arlington Renegades

Saturday’s action:

San Antonio Brahmas over Vegas Vipers

D.C. Defenders over Orlando Guardians

Sunday Afternoon:

Houston Roughnecks over St. Louis Battlehawks

There you have it, the latest from the XFL and my picks are up. Y’all enjoy yourselves now and have a good weekend.

My 2023 NCAA Tourney Picks (Round of 8)

My 2023 NCAA Tourney Picks (Round of 8)

How about the last 2 days of surprises and upsets in the NCAA Tournament, and the teams that are out of the tournament. How about this for historical purposes as there are no seeds left in this year’s tourney. Both Alabama and Houston are out as of last night. Last weekend, both Kansas and Purdue was upset early on. So who do i pick to win it all, only Connecticut has won a past national championship in basketball remains. With that being said, i believe we will have a 1st time winner. There is a school out there will get its 1st ever National Championship in basketball. I would love to know whose bracket is still intact at this point. Mine was destroyed before the end of the 1st weekend. So with that being said here is my Elite 8 picks:

Saturday’s Action:

Florida Atlantic over Kansas State

Connecticut over Gonzaga

Sunday’s Action:

San Diego State over Crieghton

Texas over Miami (FL)

There you have it and the Final Four is almost here as the month of March will come to an end soon. I can’t wait for next weekend as we will have more basketball coming up. On the plus side UAB Blazers are still alive in the NIT Final Four

My 2023 NCAA Men’s Tourney Picks (Round of 16)

My 2023 NCAA Men’s Tourney Picks (Round of 16)

Well so far march madness has been terrific so far, and there is no shortage of great games on the hardwood. Especially in Birmingham, Alabama as they had not hosted since 2008. The 15 years in between was worth the wait, and lets hope they don’t wait that long again. Other places were great as well like Orlando and some spots on the left coast as well. Sadly i was not allowed to do picks because of my duties in Birmingham, and it would have created a conflict of interest. Let’s admit i am not big time enough to not make picks in my own hometown. I hope to change that narrative one day, but i got some work to do. Well there were some big upsets for sure, and even 2 seeds went down early (Purdue and Kansas). Only Alabama and Houston are left standing as seeds in the south and midwest regions respectively. Well here are my picks for Thursday and Friday.

Thursday Night:

Tennessee over Florida Atlantic (FAU)

Michigan State over Kansas State

UCLA over Gonzaga

Connecticut over Arkansas

Friday Night:

Alabama over San Diego State

Princeton over Creighton

Texas over Xavier

Houston over Miami (FL)

There you have it my picks are up and y’all enjoy the games folks. If you still have your bracket intact then you are the lucky ones.

My XFL Today’s Picks (Week 6, 2023)

My XFL Today’s Picks (Week 6, 2023)

Well a tragedy has stuck, the team that was the odds on favorite to possibly go 10-0 will not happen. The Houston Roughnecks has lost a game finally. There offense vs Seattle disappeared faster than a David Copperfield magic trick. Although it was bound to catch up with them eventually. Im surprised it took that long after 9 official XFL games. The Vegas Vipers finally tasted victory for the 1st time this season, but it was a close one vs Orlando. The Guardians are now 0-5 and it pretty much signals the end of any hopes for a playoff spot as they have some work to do. The D.C. Defenders are now the only undefeated team left in the XFL. It is only a matter of time before they lose a game, its about the when not if! Maybe the XFL should rethink it strategy on when to start there season. I would start the season in March at least, just to avoid the colder temperatures. Also don’t go ahead against the NCAA basketball tournament. Well here is my week 6 picks of the XFL

Saturday’s Action:

Seattle Sea Dragons over Orlando Guardians

St. Louis Battlehawks over Vegas Vipers

Sunday’s Action:

Arlington Renegades over San Antonio Brahmas

D.C. Defenders over Houston Roughnecks

There you have it my XFL picks are up and enjoy the football this weekend as we are past the halfway point of the season. The games mean that much more to every team from here on end.

My XFL Today’s picks (Week 5, 2023)

My XFL Today’s picks (Week 5, 2023)

Well we have reached the halfway point of the XFL regular season. Time to really tell the contenders from the pretenders. After this week, the 2nd half of the season will become mighty important to every XFL team. At least 1 team this week will finally be in the win column between Orlando and Vegas. They battle this Saturday as they are both 0-4. Both Houston and D.C. are still tops in there divisions respectively at 4-0. The other 4 teams still have a shot to catch them for now. How about there are 3 games that will start later than 9pm or so. It’s the case this week and that also means more trouble in the TV ratings again. Now for my XFL picks:

Thursday night:

Houston Roughnecks over Seattle Sea Dragons

Saturday action:

D.C. Defenders over St. Louis Battlehawks

Vegas Vipers over Orlando Guardians

Sunday night:

Arlington Renegades over San Antonio Brahmas

There you have it and watching this weeks games will be an all time challenge. We will see what happens!

My XFL Today’s Picks (Week 4, 2023)

My XFL Today’s Picks (Week 4, 2023)

Now we have games this weekend on separating the contenders from the pretenders. Before we get to them, there have been league news that were significant. 3 games on the league schedule are changing networks, as they are trying to solve the strange downfall of the TV ratings. Maybe they need more than 3 weeks to solve it, or get some better teams and support system. In the standings there are only 2 teams left that are undefeated at 3-0 (Houston and D.C.), St. Louis and Arlington are 2-1 each, Seattle and San Antonio are 1-2 so far. Finally, Both Vegas and Orlando have yet to taste victory at 0-3 each. If they are going to contend for a playoff spot might want to start doing some winning. Well its about that time for my xfl picks so here we go as week 4 will get underway shortly

Saturday Night:

Houston Roughnecks over Orlando Guardians

Seattle Sea Dragons over San Antonio Brahmas

Sunday’s Action:

St. Louis Battlehawks over Arlington Renegades

D.C. Defenders over Vegas Vipers

There you have it my XFL picks are now up and get ready for some good football as we are just about half way thru the season. Hard to believe right!

My Weekly XFL Today’s picks (Week 3, 2023)

My Weekly XFL Today’s picks (Week 3, 2023)

So far 2 weeks in the books, and not much fanfare taking place across the XFL. The TV ratings have been abysmal at best, with not a lot of great matchups so far. There are 3 teams (Houston, St Louis, and D.C.) that are 2-0, and the only question remains who stays undefeated after this weekend. Both Arlington and San Antonio are a respectable 1-1. Only 3 teams out there have yet to taste victory this season as they are 0-2. Seattle, Vegas Vipers, and Orlando are struggling right now. However, it’s possible that 1 or maybe 2 teams will have a victory to speak of. Is it a must win at this early stage of the season? Well it does depend on what team is hungry enough to compete for a championship. Now for my picks:

Saturday action:

Seattle SeaDragons over Las Vegas Vipers

Sundays action:

St Louis Battlehawks over D.C. Defenders

Arlington Renegades over Orlando Guardians

Houston Roughnecks over San Antonio Brahmas

There you have it my latest installment of the XFL is up and running.
