Well we have finally hit the home stretch of the Regular Season, and with the playoff picture is just about cleared. But first, the game of the year so far took place in Birmingham, Alabama as about 14, 000 fans packed into Protective Stadium to watch the Stallions play the Battlehawks. It was a tightly closely contested game with the Stallions pulling away in the end. Now could this be a potential championship game preview for mid June? There is still plenty of football left to play, so lets all stay tuned. The Arlington Renegades finally are in the win column, no thanks to the Memphis Showboats. The Showboats still have not won since opening weekend, and they along with the Renegades and Roughnecks have been eliminated from playoff contention. The D.C. Defenders (3-4) are barely alive for the playoffs, but realistically would need to win out to have any chance at this point. In the XFL Conference, both St. Louis and San Antonio (5-2 each) are tied for first, they still have to play each other in about 2 weeks for the top seed and hosting a playoff game. In the USFL Conference, the two teams have already been decided in Michigan (5-2) and Birmingham (7-0). The location of it could get settled soon, pending on this week’s action. The UFL and FOX Sports have announced that there will be games on Friday, starting next season. Which could be good for the league and FOX TV. Although I think FOX wants to fill there Friday Nights with a lot of sports programming throughout the calendar year. There has also been talk of potentially expansion in the UFL, however nothing been confirmed at least not yet. We will keep you posted on those details as soon as it develops. Last Week on my picks I went 3-1 in Week 7, so my overall record is now 19-9 on the season. So here is my Week 8 picks:
Saturday’s Action:
Michigan Panthers over Memphis Showboats (Game on FOX Sports)
Birmingham Stallions over Houston Roughnecks (Game on ESPN 2/Streaming on ESPN+)
Sunday’s Action:
St. Louis Battlehawks over D.C. Defenders (Game on ABC/Streaming on ESPN+)
San Antonio Brahmas over Arlington Renegades (Game on FOX Sports)
There you have it my picks are up and on the board, and lets hope for a winning weekend for this one. Y’all enjoy yourselves once and for all now!
