My College Football Playoff National Championship Preview + Pick

My College Football Playoff National Championship Preview + Pick

Well college football fans we have reach the last college football game of the season. That is until the month of August on when the real football season will get going. In this matchup its a bit of a surprise as the Michigan Wolverines (Big Ten Champion) take on the Washington Huskies (Pac 12 Champion) for the right to hold that National Championship trophy on January 8. Lets face it, the Wolverines have been a good team. This is in spite of there Head Coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended twice during the season for certain off the field issues (2 separate incidents by the way) for a total of 6 games. Jim Harbaugh’s future is an on going topic these days, or the daily rumors of his pending return to the NFL. However, the Wolverines persevered and played there best all season. They were lucky to beat Alabama in the playoff game at the Rose Bowl. But that game could have gone either way in it. So Michigan is playing the Washington Huskies who took advantage of Texas Longhorns mistakes all game long in there playoff. The Huskies will need to be aware of the Wolverines offense who is capable of scoring a ton of points. We all know the Pac 12 rarely plays defense, but the Huskies will need to if they have a shot of winning. So for the Washington Huskies this is there best shot to win a championship, because it may be a long while before they get another chance. So here is my pick:

College Football Playoff National Championship:

Michigan Wolverines over Washington Huskies

There you have it and so the long off season begins right after that, and we will see you in August.

The Sudden End of the Pacific 12 Conference (The PAC 12)

Ole Pac 12 conference where have you gone to, these days? I mean last week they took a beating in losing teams to either the Big Ten (Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA) or the Big 12 (Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah). All of this has happened within the past 13 months, and they don’t join them until July 2024. Well there days as a power 5 conference will be no more after this, some say there is really no coming back from this. But there is no one to really blame for this mess, except for the current Pac 12 commissioner: George Kliavkoff. The watch is definitely on for him, its almost would take a major miracle for him and his conference to even survive this fiasco. Even the new media rights deal is not ideal at all, especially when its lower than all other power 5 conferences. I mean its a big difference from $22 million (Pac 12 is getting from Apple TV) and over $70 million which is what the Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC are getting from these TV deals. So i guess traditions have officially been thrown on this one. It is really a shame that this conference is on its way out unless there is a massive miracle. So what would be next for the so-called Pac 12 or Pac 4? Who knows at this point for Oregon State, Washington State, Stanford, and California? They could merge with the Mountain West Conference since they have 12 teams currently? Or they could possibly go independent, until they figured this thing out. Well all i could say its been nice knowing you Pac 12, maybe we will see you again.

University of Colorado is heading back to the Big 12

Well the collapse of the Pac 12 continues to spiral out of control, as when 2024 comes in. As of now, they are about to be reduced to 9 teams (Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Stanford, and California) That is if no one else bolts between now and July 1, 2024. So who could blame the Colorado Buffaloes for leaving the Pac 12. Why stay in an unstable conference like the Pac 12 who cant seem to find its footing with a pending media rights deal. They have already lost USC and UCLA to the Big Ten (Starting play after July 1, 2024), and so the next thing (hopefully) for the Pac 12 is expansion at this point. It was just last week Pac 12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff had announced that no team was going anywhere. Now we find out that is not even true, especially with this latest news of Colorado leaving for the Big 12. We all know both the Big Ten and the SEC want to do some more expansion as they both race to make there conferences 20 teams each. Its only a matter of time before that will happen. By the way, the Big 12 may not be finished with there expansion plans as they will start looking for more teams to join there conference. So i guess we are all wondering who is the next team to stay or go (kind pf like the song by the Clash).

My 2022-2023 College Football Bowl Picks

My 2022-2023 College Football Bowl Picks

Well its supposed to be a wonderful time of the year, however it will start on a somber note as Mississippi State Head Coach Mike Leach did passed away back on Monday night on December 12, 2022. Very sad ending to a great coach, but more importantly a unique person who was more about being a lifer. Coach Leach was a head coach for most of the last 2 decades in places like Texas Tech, Washington State, and finally Mississippi State where he only spent 3 seasons in Starkville, Mississippi. I feel for his family as they are going through a difficult moment in there lives. I also feel for the Mississippi State community as they still have a bowl game to prepare for on January 2. Breaking News: Auburn Football makes a change

Breaking News: Auburn Football makes a change

Well Auburn fans you finally will get your wish, after less than 2 seasons as Auburn’s Football coach. Bryan Harsin will no longer be patrolling the sidelines. The recent loss to Arkansas, and the troublesome offense all season to this point. It started to accelerated the firing of Bryan Harsin Monday morning (10/31/2022). There were also the constant state of the blowing of the leads from last season into this season as well. Auburn has reportedly found its next Athletic Director in John Cohen, who is departing his position of Athletic Director (From Mississippi State). According to Hail State athletics (here is the link: https://hailstate.com/news/2022/10/31/msus-keenum-moving-forward-with-athletics-director-search.aspx) The Bulldogs are searching for there next Athletic Director as of now. Back to Harsin, he only lasted 21 games (9-12 overall) in his less than 2 seasons. Harsin started 6-2 in 2021 before the bottom fell out. As he finished 6-7 with the loss in the Birmingham Bowl in December. The fallout from the off season was so bad before the Spring. It look liked Harsin was possibly going to be shown the door, but Auburn decided to keep him. That decision proved to be costly for former Athletic Director Al Greene, as he was shown the door in the summer. It was not long before the days were counting to now on the tenure of Bryan Harsin, its now over. Harsin will be paid 15 million as part of the buyout from Auburn. There are already names that are being speculated from Lane Kiffin to even Bill Clark (former UAB Coach). As for the current season at Auburn, they are only 3-5 on the season 1-4 in SEC play. There chances at getting to a bowl game is now in the slimmer stage right now. This is what they have left on there schedule, they play Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Western Kentucky, and Alabama. Its not out of the question for Auburn to run the table, but it will be a tough stretch the rest of the way. Auburn will have a painful transition this time, and the fans will have to be patient in this process.

My 2022 College Football Picks (Week 5)

My 2022 College Football Picks (Week 5)

Well this is becoming a weekly theme with coaches getting fired. This time its Geoff Collins from Georgia Tech and did he really have a chance, i do not think so. The Bryan Harsin Era lives on for now, but does it end this coming weekend? It could if the LSU game doesn’t goes well. However, AJ McCarron (former Alabama QB) has already declared Harsin finished at Auburn. Will he prediction hold true, its something we all will have to tune in and find out. The Big Ten and Big 12 are still looking for more schools to join there conference at somepoint. Expansion talk seems to be the name of the game in the playoff and among the power conferences. So here are my picks for this week:

Saturday’s action:

Air Force over Navy (Game on CBS)

Minnesota over Purdue

Oklahoma over TCU (Texas Christian)

There you have it my picks are up and you folks have a good one on this day.

My 2022 College Football Picks (Week 4)

My 2022 College Football Picks (Week 4)

Well what a week it has been, and another head coach (Herm Edwards at Arizona State) lost there job again. No its not Bryan Harsin, although it is getting close to being the case. It is so unfortunate for Harsin. This time he has no one to blame but himself. The Penn State game was a tragedy even for Auburn fans. There was no support at all for this man, and he had done great things in the Mountain West Conference with Boise State. The SEC is a different animal entirely, and Harsin should have known that from the beginning. Lets see if he makes it past November 1, or at all beyond 2022. This college football season has been weird all the way around, but it will sort itself out later in the season. So now here is my latest picks:

Saturday’s Action:

Clemson over Wake Forest

Kansas over Duke

Michigan over Maryland

Buffalo over Eastern Michigan

Baylor over Iowa State

Auburn over Missouri
