My Super Bowl 58 (LVII) Preview + Pick

My Super Bowl 58 (LVII) Preview + Pick

So finally it comes down to these 2 teams standing as the Kansas City Chiefs face off with the San Francisco 49ers for the right to hoist the Vincent Lombardi Super Bowl trophy. It is not a match that I or anyone else envision it happening, but that is what we have in this year’s Super Bowl. So that also means we will get our dose of Taylor Swift, to some extent at least. This is the 49ers 3rd attempt in the Super Bowl since the 1994 NFL season. They lost the last 2 super bowls they were in, and it ended in heartbreaking fashion. However, the 49ers have been the best team in the NFC all season. They have there best runner in Christian McCaffery, best wide receiver in Brandon Aiyuk, and they quarterback in Brock Purdy (who rarely loses) 17-4 in the regular season, and 4-1 in the postseason. I believe Purdy will have to be the difference maker for the 49ers to win this Super Bowl. 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan needs this Super Bowl more than anybody out here as his postseason failures are starting to eat away at him. Meanwhile for the Chiefs, we all know who they have in Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and a host of other contributors. The Kansas City Chiefs are starting to be like the New England Patriots as of being the next dynasty of winning championships. There defense has had trouble stopping the run on occasion, and that could be a factor in the difference in the Chiefs of winning this Super Bowl. There has been talk of a possible retirement of Head Coach Andy Reid, but so far there has not been any indication of it. I would be shocked if he does call it a career on the sidelines. So now it is time to make my pick on the Super Bowl:

Super Bowl 58 LVII Pick:

Kansas City Chiefs over San Francisco 49ers

So that is how this NFL Football season ends, and can’t wait for the UFL to get started in March!

My NFL Today’s Picks (Conference Championship)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Conference Championship)

Well football fans we are down to the last 4 teams for the right to compete for the Vincent Lombardi (Super Bowl) trophy. There 4 teams (the Ravens, Chiefs, Lions, and 49ers) have played there best in the playoffs so far. However, it is now time to take it up to another level. Only 3 of the 4 teams remaining have won a Super Bowl at least for a time. Both the Ravens and Chiefs have won 2 Super Bowls each, while the 49ers have won 5 Super Bowls (there last one was the 1994 season). The Detroit Lions have been a long suffering franchise for so long, but many fell this is there time. I mean we are talking about the George Herbert Walker Bush administration since they last played in the NFC Championship game. That was back in 1991, and Head Coach Dan Campbell believes in his players, and they think they can shock the world. I would not be surprised by it, however you have to go all the way back since the 1950’s that the Lions even competed for a championship. QB Jared Goff is no stranger to the NFC Championship game, he has been here before (with the LA Rams), so the Lions are thinking Super Bowl. First things first, the Lions will have a tough 49ers team to deal with as they travel to Santa Clara to face the 49ers. Meanwhile in the AFC, now we got some star power at the quarterback position with both Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) and Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs). Both really deserved to be MVP of the NFL this season. However, there will be only 1 left standing by the end of Sunday. I am glad they got this game in the primetime slot of this coming Sunday. Well I went a perfect 4-0 on my divisional round picks, and my playoff record so far is 8-2. So here is my Conference Championship picks:

AFC Championship Game (Game on CBS/Streaming on Paramount Plus)

Baltimore Ravens over Kansas City Chiefs

NFC Championship Game (Game on FOX)

Detroit Lions over San Francisco 49ers

There you have it, more football is on the way soon. So hope you enjoy the games this Sunday and I will be back with my Super Bowl preview soon.

My NFL Today’s Picks (Divisional Playoff)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Divisional Playoff)

Well that was impressive opening round of the NFL Playoffs last weekend. We had one game moved because of a blizzard in Buffalo, New York. It was so bad that they needed regular human beings to shovel out some snow. However, it is the case this week as once again the Buffalo Bills will be hosting another playoff game at home. They still need more people to shovel out some snow before there game vs. Kansas City Chiefs. By the way, for the Chiefs it will be there 1st road playoff game since: 2015. Now that is a long time coming, and it shows how good the Chiefs are. But they are going into very chilly Buffalo to play the Bills. At least the Bills will keep there championship window alive for the moment. The Houston Texans look like a team on a mission, and they look poised for an appearance in the Super Bowl. They destroyed the Browns in earnest, and made them below average for the majority of the game. The Texans will now have a huge challenge in battling the top seeded Baltimore Ravens. This should really be a good game in Baltimore, no doubt about it. The Detroit Lions have finally done it, they won a playoff game for the first time since the George Herbert Walker Bush administration (1991) was in its final days in the White House. They had to beat there old quarterback in Matthew Stafford, who they traded to the Los Angeles Rams just a few seasons ago. Jared Goff was the other quarterback in the trade, and has been a productive QB for the Lions. Can they pull the upset vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers we will have to see about that. Both the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles need there heads examined by a trained doctor, I think they never got off the bus in there perspective stadiums. Before halftime, they were already thinking of the off season as they got behind early and it was too late to comeback at that point. So last weekend I did well on my playoff picks as I went 4-2, but I am ready for the next round. So here is my picks for the Divisional Round:

Saturday’s Action:

Baltimore Ravens over Houston Texans (Game on ABC/ESPN)

San Francisco 49ers over Green Bay Packers (Game on FOX)

Sunday’s Action:

Detroit Lions over Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Game on NBC/Streaming on Peacock)

Kansas City Chiefs over Buffalo Bills (Game on CBS/Streaming on Paramount Plus)

There you have it my latest installment of my playoff picks are up, and lets hope for good football this coming weekend.

My NFL Today’s Picks (Wild Card Weekend Playoff)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Wild Card Weekend Playoff)

Well the regular season is over, but a lot has happen since Sunday as coaches being fired left and right. Even so as we speak, now Bill Belichick has left the New England Patriots after 24 seasons. Pete Carroll left the Seattle Seahawks after 14 seasons, and the shocker in Tennessee as Mike Vrabel was let go and no one saw that coming. Arthur Smith lost his job in Atlanta with the Falcons, and Ron Rivera was out from the Washington Commanders (but that was expected). So we have 8 openings for head coaches to apply. I had predicted 6 jobs to be open in the off season, would be the over/under. We really got some good matchups in this weekend’s playoff games, and my picks are coming soon. Let’s wrap up the regular season about my picks this past season. I went 9-7 in the final week (Week 18) of the regular season, and finish the season with a record of 165 wins and 107 losses. So here is my playoff picks for this week:

Saturday’s Action:

Houston Texans over Cleveland Browns (Game on NBC)

Kansas City Chiefs over Miami Dolphins (Game on Peacock)

Sunday’s Action:

Buffalo Bills over Pittsburgh Steelers (Game on CBS/streaming on Paramount Plus)

Dallas Cowboys over Green Bay Packers (Game on FOX)

Detroit Lions over Los Angeles Rams (Game on NBC)

Monday Night Playoff Football:

Philadelphia Eagles over Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There you have it my playoff picks are up for this round, and hope you enjoy the football being displayed this weekend. Can’t wait to get started sports fans!

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 18, 2023 Season)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 18, 2023 Season)

Well football fans it all comes down to the last regular season game of this season. We still have playoff spots that need to be clinched by Sunday. Also there is 4 division titles on the line (2 in each conference) from the AFC Eastern, AFC Southern, NFC Eastern, and NFC Southern that need to be decided soon. Plus there are the other teams that need to figure there futures beyond this season. Who is going to be the next Head Coach, Quarterback, etc. The NFL has fined Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper for throwing a drink at a fan, after his team loses again in Jacksonville vs Jaguars. I wish I was running the league, Tepper would have gotten a multi-game suspension instead of a fine. His recent behavior has been sending shock waves in the NFL and throughout sports in general. Its almost time for the playoffs, and I wish we could bring Jim Mora to get the fans ready for the postseason. His playoff rant is one of the best of all time, and it will NEVER be topped in my opinion. So as for my picks, which I had a good week going 12-4 in Week 17. In the month of December, I went 48-28, and for this season so far I am 156-100. I only need 3 wins to eclipse last season win total, I think its safe to assume I will get there. I even have a shot at possibly at 170 wins for the first time ever? So now here is my Week 18 picks as we close out the regular season, and its been an interesting one for the books:

Saturday’s Action: (Games on ABC/ESPN/ESPN Plus)

Ravens over Steelers

Texans over Colts

Early Sunday Afternoon:

Browns over Bengals

Saints over Falcons

Lions over Vikings

Jaguars over Titans

Buccaneers over Panthers

Patriots over Jets

Late Sunday Afternoon:

Packers over Bears

Chiefs over Chargers

Raiders over Broncos

49ers over Rams

Eagles over Giants

Cowboys over Commanders

Seahawks over Cardinals

Sunday Night:

Dolphins over Bills

There you have it my picks are up and lets enjoy the last of the regular season before we hit the postseason with both feet in. My playoff preview is coming up soon, stay tuned for it and hoped your new year is off to a good start.

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 17, 2023 Season)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 17, 2023 Season)

Well football fans it has come down to this, we only have 2 weeks of the regular season of the National Football League. There is plenty to get to on this one. We will get to the picks in a moment. A big story is developing as we speak as Russell Wilson is headed to the bench (via the Denver Broncos decision). The Denver Broncos ought to be ashamed of themselves for benching Russell Wilson, even though Wilson has been putting up good stats this season. Wilson has 26 touchdown passes, and only 8 interceptions on the season. The Broncos want to save money for there next 2 seasons at least, however I believe they are too late on 2024 as Wilson’s salary ($39 Million) is guaranteed. But his 2025 salary is not as of now. If I was Russell Wilson I would ask for my release or a trade in the off season. I think it is terrible what the Broncos are doing, and the worst part of this is that they are still in playoff contention going into this week. The Broncos record on the season is: 7-8, all they need to do is win there last 2 games and get some much needed help to grab a wild card at least. Russell Wilson deserves better treatment than he was getting from the Broncos, I hope the Broncos do the right thing for Russell Wilson. Shame on you Denver Broncos, and in the future please do better. There are plenty of head coaches on the hot seat for various reasons. Coaches like Ron Rivera, Arthur Smith, Matt Eberflus, and others. It looks like Black Monday will be an interesting one coming in a couple of weeks. There is still no word on the future (or non-future) of Bill Belichick with the New England Patriots. It is really tough to predict on the situation, however in a couple of weeks we will know the pending finale of it. Well my picks barely survive last week going 8-8 in week 16, so the month of December has been weird going36-24. So on the 2023 season, I am 144-96 and so a good couple of weeks will be needed before the postseason starts. So here is my Week 17 picks:

Thursday Night:

Browns over Jets

Saturday Night:

Lions over Cowboys

Early Sunday Afternoon:

Bills over Patriots

Eagles over Cardinals

Ravens over Dolphins

Jaguars over Panthers

Buccaneers over Saints

Falcons over Bears

Colts over Raiders

49ers over Commanders

Rams over Giants

Texans over Titans

Late Sunday Afternoon:

Steelers over Seahawks

Broncos over Chargers

Chiefs over Bengals

Sunday Night:

Packers over Vikings

There you have it my picks are up and hope your holiday season is going well and safe. Happy New Year to you and we will talk in 2024.

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 16, 2023 Season)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 16, 2023 Season)

Well football fans, there is only 3 weeks left of this regular season and the playoff race is getting interesting by the minute. There is plenty to talk about from this past week of the National Football League. The Los Angeles Chargers have let go of Brandon Staley, and I believe it is time for the Chargers to hit the reset button with there franchise once again. There is still no word on the future of Bill Belichick with the New England Patriots, and owner Robert Kraft is not saying a word to the media about it. There is continued speculation on how this story will play out at season’s end. No it will not be the longest running soap opera since the Phil Jackson days from the Chicago Bulls in basketball. Updating the playoff picture as 4 teams have clinched playoff spots so far. They are the Ravens, 49ers, Cowboys, and the Eagles. There are 6 teams that are already eliminated from playoff contention, that is almost a fourth of the league. Now time for my update on my picks, as this is the first time all season I had a fantastic week of picking games. In Week 15 I went 14-2, and so the month of December so far I’m 28-16. In the 2023 season my record is 136-88. So it is now time for my picks on Week 16:

Thursday Night:

Rams over Saints

Saturday Doubleheader:

Bengals over Steelers

Bills over Chargers

Early Sunday Afternoon:

Colts over Falcons

Packers over Panthers

Seahawks over Titans

Texans over Browns

Lions over Vikings

Commanders over Jets

Late Sunday Afternoon:

Jaguars over Buccaneers

Bears over Cardinals

Cowboys over Dolphins

Sunday Night:

Broncos over Patriots

Monday’s Action on Christmas Day:

Chiefs over Raiders

Eagles over Giants

Ravens over 49ers

There you have it my picks are up and i hope you have a happy and safe holiday season. Make sure you get your shopping done soon, I have not even started shopping at all. I better get to it as soon as possible. I will be back next time for my weekly picks.

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 15, 2023 Season)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 15, 2023 Season)

Well NFL Football fans how are y’all living these days, is your team a contender or a pretender? I am sure we will get to those nagging questions soon. The playoff race is starting to heat up in both conferences (AFC and NFC). Except for a few teams out there with really bad records who are just playing out the string. Everyone else is still alive for a playoff spot, but for how long? The Green Bay Packers do we really know what to make of this team, I certainly am having a hard time trying to figure it out. The had the lead on the woeful NY Giants, and then they get beat near the end of the game. How about the Tennessee Titans in pulling off one of the best comebacks this season vs Miami Dolphins, especially when there were down by 2 scores with 3 or so minutes to go. By the way, that was coming back from back to back turnovers in there own territory. The Titans might not be going to the playoffs, but they could possibly spoil someone else’s championship hopes. The rash of injuries continue to hit the quarterback position in the NFL. The latest is Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers) who is now out the rest of the season with a broken finger. Herbert might as well get ready for 2024, I think they will be making big changes to the Chargers organization. Could the run of Bill Belichick be at the finish line, there are reports out of Foxborough, Massachusetts that Patriots owner Robert Kraft will wait till the end of the season to possibly make a head coaching change. Belichick will need a massive miracle in order to keep his job. Now for the latest update on my picks that did not go so well. In Week 14 I went 6-9 with a lot of tough losses in the week. So far in the month of December, my record is 14-14. In the 2023 season so far I am 122-86, as there is only a few weeks left in the regular season. Well it is time to get Week 15 started with my latest picks;

Thursday Night:

Raiders over Chargers

Saturday’s Action:

Bengals over Vikings

Steelers over Colts

Lions over Broncos

Early Sunday Afternoon:

Browns over Bears

Panthers over Falcons

Dolphins over Jets

Chiefs over Patriots

Buccaneers over Packers

Texans over Titans

Saints over Giants

Late Sunday Afternoon:

Rams over Commanders

49ers over Cardinals

Bills over Cowboys

Sunday Night:

Ravens over Jaguars

Monday Night:

Eagles over Seahawks

There you have it my picks are up and on the board, as the weekend is almost here in earnest. Time for some winning football and hopefully someone clinches a playoff spot this weekend.

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 14, 2023 Season)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 14, 2023 Season)

Well NFL fans, it is hard to believe but there is only 5 weeks left in the regular season. No one has clinch a playoff spot, at least not yet. But we do have plenty of contenders in both the AFC and the NFC, however most teams have not played like they are eager for a spot in the playoffs. Most of the teams in the NFL this season, have either benched there quarterback or been injured this season. Trevor Lawrence (QB – Jacksonville Jaguars) got hurt on Monday Night Football vs Cincinnati Bengals. Lawrence becomes the latest starting quarterback to succumb to injury. The Jaguars are trying to hold off both Houston and Indianapolis in the AFC South division. Both the Colts and Texans are only 1 game behind the Jaguars in the standings. In the NFC South, there are 3 contenders so far (Saints, Falcons, and Buccaneers) it is only a matter of who wants to win this division. I do not believe in any of those teams, but somebody has to win the division, right? So here is an update on my picks, as week 13 was a interesting one. Starting the month of December at 8-5 record. So for the 2023 season so far I am 116-77. Now time for the latest picks into Week 14:

Thursday Night:

Steelers over Patriots

Early Sunday Afternoon:

Buccaneers over Falcons

Saints over Panthers

Texans over Jets

Lions over Bears

Colts over Bengals

Ravens over Rams

Jaguars over Browns

Late Sunday Afternoon:

Vikings over Raiders

49ers over Seahawks

Chiefs over Bills

Broncos over Chargers

Sunday Night:

Eagles over Cowboys

Monday Night:

Dolphins over Titans (Game on ESPN)

Packers over Giants (Game on ABC and streaming on ESPN+)

There you have it my picks are up and on the board here. So it is now time to enjoy the spotlight as there is nothing but pro football on until otherwise here. Have a good weekend folks!

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 13, 2023 Season)

My NFL Today’s Picks (Week 13, 2023 Season)

Well it is hard to believe that there is only a few weeks in the regular season. However, nobody has clinched a playoff spot yet. Before we continue to dive into the National Football League, we did get another head coach biting the dust of the unemployment line. Unfortunately, its Frank Reich who for the 2nd consecutive season getting fired in the middle of the season. Last season, it was the Indianapolis Colts decided to move on from him. This past Monday Frank Reich didn’t make past the 1st season in Carolina. The record of the Panthers is quite alarming at 1-10 in 2023. I don’t know what the future holds for Frank Reich, but I guess he will take a break for now. I would not be shocked if Reich gets another chance in the NFL. Reich’s record as an NFL head coach 42-45-1, if you were wondering. Well Aaron Rodgers will have to make an decision soon on possibly coming back this season. He will only have 3 weeks to make that decision, or wait till 2024 to decide on coming back for the Jets. I would advise him to stay retired altogether. The Jets are currently 4-7, and are very close to being eliminated from playoff contention. They do have some winnable games, but it might not save them in the long run. I would get ready for 2024 and try again. Well as for my picks, last week in Week 12 I went 9-7 to end the month of November at 32-26. So in the 2023 season so far, I am 108-72. I am only 50 wins from tying last season’s win total of 158. So here is my Week 13 picks:

Thursday Night:

Cowboys over Seahawks

Early Sunday afternoon:

Colts over Titans

Falcons over Jets

Broncos over Texans

Chargers over Patriots

Steelers over Cardinals

Lions over Saints

Dolphins over Commanders

Late Sunday afternoon:

Buccaneers over Panthers

Rams over Browns

Eagles over 49ers

Sunday night:

Chiefs over Packers

Monday Night:

Jaguars over Bengals

There you have it, my picks are up and its a light schedule as 6 NFL teams are on a bye week. So enjoy the football this coming weekend as we welcome the month of December.
