My 2024 NBA Today’s Picks (2nd Round)

My 2024 NBA Today’s Picks (2nd Round)

I know the 1st round is not completely over, but I am going to make my picks anyway. However, there has been news floating around in the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to make a coaching change as Darwin Ham is out as head coach after 2 seasons. Now that was quick and surprising, but it does not stop there as LeBron James has reportedly opt out of his player contract, and so the fun begins. I really can’t call it a soap opera because it has be done what 4 times over? We will keep you posted on it as much as possible. I am very surprise at the following teams that did not make it out of the first round like Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks were outplayed by the Indiana Pacers by a country mile, and the injury to Giannis didn’t help matters. Back to back seasons the Bucks go home early, and into the off season. As for the Indiana Pacers, its there 1st playoff series win since 2014. The Philadelphia 76ers ought to be ashamed of themselves, they wanted the Knicks so badly in the playoffs. So what happened, they got themselves whipped badly in a 6 game series that looked like time stood still for them. The Boston Celtics had no problem with the Miami Heat, as that series went faster than a typical fast food restaurant. In the wild wild West, the Phoenix Suns were stunned by the Timberwolves as they finally won a series worth talking about. The Timberwolves had not won a playoff series since 2004, now how further can they go as they face a tough Denver Nuggets team. The Nuggets made quick work of the Lakers who had no business being in the playoffs at all. The Oklahoma City Thunder made the Pelicans dazed and confused at times, also there were stunned on how good the Thunder is. By the way, Thunder has to faced a red hot Dallas Mavericks team that surprised the Los Angeles Clippers (I had picked them to win the series) that lost there way in the last couple of games as both Kyrie and Luka had big games in the scoring department. This should be a very interesting 2nd round of the NBA Playoffs, and here is my picks:

Eastern Conference: (Best of Seven Games)

Boston Celtics over the Magic or even Cavaliers

New York Knicks over Indiana Pacers

Western Conference: (Best of Seven Games)

Denver Nuggets over Minnesota Timberwolves

Dallas Mavericks over Oklahoma City Thunder

There you have it, my picks are up and I will even throw in a bonus pick since there is a Game 7 (Cavaliers over Magic on Sunday, for the right to play Boston in Round 2) So lets enjoy the postseason everybody!
